Griffith Observatory

A place that holds special memories for both Sofi and Sun, Griffith Observatory is one of our most beloved spots in Los Angeles. It was famously featured in the film La La Land, and it’s easy to see why.

Inside, you’ll find a small astronomy museum with beautiful murals and fascinating exhibits about planets and space. But honestly, that’s not even the best part. If you’re lucky enough to stay until evening, you’ll be rewarded with one of the most breathtaking views in LA — the true “City of Stars” at night. The glowing city skyline stretches before you, while the iconic Hollywood Sign sits behind you in the hills. It’s a magical stop for anyone dreaming of California vibes.

The only downside is that parking can be tricky. We recommend taking an Uber for convenience. Alternatively, you can park lower in Griffith Park and enjoy a little hike up to the observatory — a great way to get some light exercise and soak in the scenery along the way.

Travel tip: If you’re short on time, we recommend visiting The Broad during the day and coming to Griffith Observatory at night just for the city views. Just be sure to check the astronomy museum’s closing hours in advance — it may be closed in the evening. If you’re mainly here for the night skyline, then visiting later works perfectly.
